  • 730 a.m. 430 p.m.
  • If the library is closed, notices will be posted
    on the library doors.

Morning Tutoring
  • Students wishing to see a teacher for morning
    tutorials should check in at the library desk.

Destiny Card Catalog
  • The card catalog can be accessed by students and
    parents at school or home.
  • To access from home, go to http//spsdestiny.lisd.
    net

screen and click the Destiny Card catalog icon.

Guidelines
  • All unaccompanied students must have a pass to
    visit the library.
  • Passes must have student name/s, teacher name and
    time of departure from class.

Purposes for Visiting
  • To study, read, and use the librarys resources
    for academic purposes.
  • Students may talk quietly.
  • No more than 4 unaccompanied students at one time
    may be sent for a maximum of 20 minutes.

Student Computer Use
  • No e-mail, games, or downloads at any time.
  • Discs or flash drives should be scanned for
    viruses by library staff.
  • Students should only sign in under their own
    student user names.
  • Students should log off before leaving.

First time student login to networkStep 1
  • In the Username box, type the first initial of
    your last name, the first initial of your first
    name and your student ID number. The password is
    student.

Student Login-Step 2
  • Always choose YES when the computer asks if you
    want to change your password.
  • Type in a new password that is at least 5
    characters.
  • Type that same password when it asks you to
    retype your password.
  • Click OK.
  • If students have problems or a student is new to
    the school and cannot get access following the
    directions given above, their teacher should
    contact Carolyn Sullivan at sullivanc_at_lisd.net

Printing
  • Students may print up to 10 pages in b/w free per
    day.
  • Additional pages cost .05 per page.
  • Color copies may be printed .50 per page.
  • Students must ask a librarian to do the color
    printing for them.
  • Color printing will not be done before school.
  • Printed copies may be picked up at the
    circulation desk.
  • If students have printer problems at home, they
    may send their document to bookerc_at_lisd.net and
    the library staff will print them.

Printing from the Internet
  • Copy and paste the information needed from the
    Internet into a Word document before printing.
  • Instructions on how to copy and paste are in a
    notebook next to each computer.
  • This will reduce paper and ink usage and cost.

Student Check Out
  • Books may be checked out for two weeks to
    students.
  • Students may renew books for an additional two
    weeks.
  • It is the students responsibility to return
    books on time.
  • Students will be charged for the replacement cost
    of lost or destroyed items.
  • Students may have 4 items checked out at any
  • one time.
  • If there are fines on student accounts, they
  • may not check out additional materials.
  • Students should return items to the book
  • return located next to the wall in the
  • circulation desk.
  • Students may check out previous issues of
    magazines for one night.

Student IDs
  • HHS will make IDs for all students in the fall.
  • Students who have lost their ID will need to see
    a library staff member for replacement.
  • Replacement cost for ID is 5.00.

Student Supplies
  • Students should bring required materials.
  • Backpacks and other personal items should be left
    in the classroom.

  • Students should arrive with needed supplies.
  • The library does assist students who have
    forgotten needed items.
  • The library sells student supplies such as pens,
    pencils, floppy discs, blank CDs, poster board,
    spiral notebooks, index cards, etc.

Copy Machine
  • Students have access in the library at .15 per
    page.
  • Ask library staff if help is needed.

Scanner Station
  • Computer 31 in the library is set up as a
    scanner station.
  • Students may use that computer to scan pictures
    or documents needed for class projects.

    your desktop.
