  • The library uses the Dewey Decimal system to
    organize materials
  • This system organizes everything into categories
    and subcategories
  • The nonfiction categories use numbers.

What does it mean?
  • When youre looking for a nonfiction book, you
    need to know the Dewey Number called the call
    number from the catalog to find its location on
    the shelf.
  • For fiction, you need to know the authors last
    name to find a books location on the shelf.
  • Think of the call number as the books address.
