Instructor Coach Program
  • What is it? A program that helps new CTE
    teachers become proficient in the classroom.
  • Why do we need it? Currently, we are filling CTE
    vacancies with people coming from industry
    because we value their expertise and the
    universities are not producing enough CTE
    teachers.

WHY?
  • There are approximately 1200 Provisionally
    Certified CTE teachers in the state
  • And as the first of the Baby Boomers can retire
    at age 62 in 2008, the number of Provisionally
    Certified teachers will grow.

  • How many CTE programs will be closed because of
    the lack of certifiable and effective teachers?
  • WE MUST DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

  • Institute the CTE Instructor Coach Program
  • Mentors new CTE teachers by seasoned
    professionals
  • Provides a safe environment for new teachers to
    hone teaching skills

    teacher
