5The mould
- The moulds have been cut out on our Boxford
router - The next step is to pour the pewter into the
moulds
6The heating process
Moulds set up on the fire bricks
Pewter to be melted
Bricks holding ladle in place
Heat source approx 230 degrees C
Heat directed under the ladle to heat everything
7Pouring
Poring the pewter into the moulds, slowly to fill
all gaps and not over filling

Allow the pewter to cool, approx 1min
Tap the pieces out of the moulds
9Cleaning up
Buffing
The difference between buffing and not!!
Filing, needles files and small files. Extra
sections can be cut off with a junior hacksaw
