The Indians owned most of the land in the
Louisiana Purchase. Thomas Jefferson was walking
to the capital to see if he was going to be the
third president of the United States. Spain was
taking most of the land over.

• The Louisiana Purchase was 828000 square miles.
  The United sate bout the land of the Mississippi
  river to the rocky mounts.
