What needs to be done
  • Image and Index all documents pertaining to US
    Fish Commission

    Order Keying data
  • Work with NOAA Central National Library for
access of each document through its online
    catalogue.

6
Benefits of the Projects
Benefits
  • Ensures better understanding of long term
factors of change of marine living resources
    based on analysis of documents
  • Providing the historical baseline of fisheries
and other marine living resources management by
NOAA, including the life in the National Marine
    sanctuaries
  • - Improves access to US Fish Commission data by
making them available on the Web
  • - Prevent further deterioration of documents by
    reducing handling of originals
  • - Ensures historical fisheries data are
researched to assess historical biomass and
    diversity of US marine resources
  • Provides support documents for historical and
scientific study of American marine resources
  • - Documents NMFS scientific history

7
Accessibility
  • Documents will be made available via the NOAA
