Plasma Membrane

• Protects the cell from the outside environment.
• Regulates the movement of the water
• Regulates nutrients and waste into and out of the
  cell
• Inside of the cell, the membrane is the working
  parts of the cell.

• Contains the DNA the genetic code which

• Function

• Growth

RNA / DNA

• RNA (Ribonucleic acid) RNA serves as the template
  for translation of genes into proteins,
  transferring amino acids to the ribosome to form
  proteins and also translating the transcript into
  proteins
• DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is a nucleic acid
  that contains the genetic instructions for the
  biological development of the cellular form of
  life.

Organelles

• Are located inside the cell
• They are small structures that carry out
  day-to-day operations of the cell.
• Ribosome
• Important cellular organelles participate in
  protein synthesis
• The transportation phase of protein synthesis
• The mRNA leaves the nucleus and travels to the
  cell ribosome
• Where translation occurs.

Mitochondria

• Another important cellular organelle.
• Often referred to as the power plants of the
  cell.
• Reactions that produce energy takes place in the
  mitochondria.

Lysosomes

• Important to the life of the cell.
• Lysosomes are organelles that contain enzymes
  that aid in the digestion of nutrients,
  molecules, and other material.
