5Overview of Client-Server Model of E-mail System
- Server computer software that collects and
transmits EVERYONEs email msgs - Client computer software that reads the
INDIVIDUAL USERs email msgs - In our system, Pericles is the server, and
Pegasus is a client email application - The email initially resides on Pericles, and
Pegasus downloads it to the local client
computer. - (NOTE this is a default that we can change)
