Why do we have SATs?
  • Standardised method of assessment for all
    children at end of KS2
  • Optional assessment in years 3,4 5 but
    statutory in Year 6
  • Standard Attainment Tests provide info for
    schools (primary secondary) LEAs, _at_ national
    level (league tables)
  • BUT also info from teacher assessments
