• Define a digital Professional Mobile Radio (PMR)
  standard to satisfy the current and future needs

TETRA TDMA Principle

• 41 TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access)
• 4 traffic or control channels per radio frequency
• 25 kHz carrier spacing
• Voice calls use one channel (per user or per
  site)
• Data calls can use up to 4 channels (multi-slot
  data)
• A frequency (time slots) can be shared between
  voice data transmission
