NILE RIVER AND DESERTS

• The Nile river is the longest river in the world
  stretching 4,000
• Miles from east Africa to the Mediterranean sea.
  
• About 90 percent of Egypt is desert western
  desert Sahara desert etc. Egypt has mainly two
  seasons a mild winter from November to April and
  a hot summer from may to October

housing

• They had there houses next to the Nile river so
  they could get water. The houses were made out of
  bricks sand, and mud they used it like it was
  cement.

jobs

• There were unskilled workers witch had to worship
  the pharaoh and do things for him or her. There
  were farmers and herders witch got all the food
  for the pharaoh and everyone else. There were
  traders ,artisans, shopkeepers, and scribes they
  also help the pharaoh and the priest with things.

RAMSES THE SECOND

• He let his 10 year old son serve as a captain in
  the army. He ruled as pharaoh for 66 years.
  Ramses the great because of his fame on the
  battlefield his construction and restoration of
  the buildings.

Hatshepsut

• She was only 18 when she was pharaoh.
• She was the first girl pharaoh
• She forced herself in to being a pharaoh because
  the next person in line to be pharaoh was a 3
  year old.

mummification process

• First they get all the organs and the brain out
  with a hook. Then they would salt it for 40 days.
  Then they wash the body and put some nice
  smelling oils on the body to keep it smelling
  good and fresh. Then they wrap it and put the
  body in the sarcophagus.

Accomplishments and inventions

• Ancient Egyptians were very clever like they
  made pulleys to pull up the limestone blocks for
  a pyramid. witch were very , heavy and could not
  be picked up by any human. They made knives out
  of stone and other carving tools to help them.

• All pyramids have four sides and meet at the top
  point. Pyramids were for keeping the pharaoh safe
  from robbers and holding all of the pharaohs
  things. They could take many years to build
  almost 30 years! That could take up a life time!
  Sometimes before the pharaoh had died they would
  all ready start making there pyramids because it
  took so long!
