    individualization to meet student needs
  • Consider timetables that can be flexible to meet
the needs of your most difficult to serve student

3
Provide alternatives for a fresh start
  • Provide a learning centre for continuous intake
  • Offer credit recovery, credit rescue and credit
completion to support students in their
    completion of expectation
  • Provide opportunities for independent studies and
    on line course delivery

4
Provide opportunities for a fresh start during a
semester
  • Continuous intake co-op as an alternative to
    remain in a failing course
  • Schedule selective courses in the same period to
accommodate transfer from one course to another
    (MPM1D MFM1P)
  • Deliver more courses in a half credit format

Look for ways to layer on top of a regular
timetable
  • School with-in a school

During the school day
  • Develop a learning centre

  • focus on students who need to catch up on credits
  • use your student success teacher to co-ordinate
    instructional delivery

Your learning centre needs to be flexible

    on-line or ILC materials
  • others completing courses through credit recovery
    or credit completion
  • Find ways to support students falling behind in
    daily work
  • ie point zero days
  • ask teachers for work folders for students not
handing workstudents work in centre for a day

8
Package courses
  • Provide 2,3 or 4 credit packages for a group of
    students with common needs
  • have a double period block to accommodate double
    crdits
  • operate 3-4 credit packages like co-op where the
classes run on their own schedule

Outside the school days

complete credits while participating in the
    program

Alternatives to summer school

    site through Camp I Can
