WRITERS WORKSHOP MODEL

Grading/Organization
  • Emphasis on consistent, thorough, timely work
  • Homework passes buy students one extra day
  • Keep all graded work at home (NOT in binder)
  • Clear and organized planner/binder
  • Check website if planner is not written in
    completely
  • Online grading updates - goal is every two weeks
  • Very few opportunities for extra credit

How you can help?
  • Regularly check/discuss the planner
  • Encourage organization the night before
  • Weekly clean-out/organization of binder/backpack
  • Communicate - stay informed and ask questions
  • Set aside time and place for homework
  • Help your child set/stick to timelines for
    long-term projects
  • Within reason, support due dates and teacher
    decisions
