Program Purpose

• The purpose of the Co-Curricular Transcript is to
  help keep a written, cumulative record of student
  involvement at Savannah State University. The
  need for such a program is to encompass all
  volunteer work, community service and
  service-learning activities in a centralized and
  organized way via web.
• The intent of this program is to encourage more
  students to get involve in student activities,
  programs, and civic duties. In return it will
  assist in student retention and support the
  overall mission of the University. Students
  would greatly benefit from having a co-curricular
  transcript to accompany their academic in a truer
  picture of their collegiate experiences.

Co-Curricular Involvement

• Co-Curricular Involvement consists of the
  learning experience outside the classroom that
  teaches life-long skills. These activities
  include experiences on and off campus such as
  volunteer work, non-credit hour internships or
  work experiences, student organizations/clubs,
  Greek affiliation, leadership positions,
  spiritual growth activities, sports, artistic and
  cultural pursuits, attendance at workshops,
  conferences, community service, and much more.

Additional Benefits

• Increasingly, recruiters from business, industry,
  government, and even graduate and professional
  schools are seeking college graduates with not
  only exemplary academic transcripts, but also
  graduates who have been involved in various
  leadership positions while in school.

Areas of Involvement

• Greek affiliations in chapter of SSUs Greek
  system.
• Leadership positions with the Student Government
  Association.
• Active involvement in any chaptered club or
  organization on campus.
• Leadership positions in a club, organization, or
  in a Greek organization.
• Being a part of any WSSU athletic team.
• Community serviced performed, either in
  conjunction with a SSU organization or every 20
  hours of service validated will be placed on the
  transcript.
• Leadership workshops completed (i.e. Leadership
  Institute)
• Student conferences attended and presentation
  given.
