ABOUT UNIVERSITY
University has seven colleges and 15 research
stations, six RARs, 16 research and extension
units, etc. Moreover, the seven colleges include
four agricultural, one agricultural and
engineering college, one forestry, one
corporation banking, and one management. In
addition to this, the university provides good
infrastructure like a library, sports, and a
laboratory, computer centers, social work, and
wifi facility that helps the student to bring
improvement in their mental and physical health.
And also, the faculty here are very supportive
and have good knowledge of their field, and
always ready to help the students.

HISTORY
Agriculture was introduced in 1922 in middle
school classes. In addition to this, In 1953,
agriculture course was introduced in intermediate
classes as an optional subject. In 1955, an
agriculture institute and research center was
established at Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram. And
also, University has seven colleges and 15
research stations, six RARs, 16 research and
extension units, etc. The seven colleges include
four agricultural, one agricultural and
engineering college, one forestry, one
corporation banking, and one management.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Provision of financial assistance for the
students who fall under the category of
Economically Weaker Section. First of all, the
students need to submit the required documents
and after verification according to their family
income, the annual fee is deducted by some
percentages. However, students who belong to the
SC/ST categories can avail the benefits of
scholarships. Moreover, the process to get a
scholarship is not that much complicated.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Library The university central library has
established in 1955 year. In addition to this,
Kerala Agricultural University Library and
Information System (KAULIS) includes University
Central Library and seven college libraries and
research stations. The library is an essential
component for the universitys research and
education mission as it has all the necessary
facilities like chairs and tables with proper
electricity, journals, newspapers, etc. In other
words, it provides various references as well as
textbooks. And also, the college has a fully
facilitated and well-established library for the
students where they can find various journals and
books. In addition, it provides an atmosphere to
the student where they can more concentrate on
their studies.

Laboratory Moreover, all the laboratories are
well equipped and facilitated with the required
types of equipment and aids. And also, these are
facilities are meet up the guidelines set up by
the concerned authorities. Social and
environmental steps Kerala Agricultural
University students have been taught to be
environment-friendly. And also, every year
plantation bt the students have done in the
university itself. Moreover, college is trying to
make people aware of the importance of women's
education. In addition to this, students get to
experience and feel happy to work as a team for
societal welfare through these activities.

Cultural and educational Festivals,
extra-curricular activities Kerala Agricultural
University organizes the Annual sports meet every
year. Therefore, the Students participate and get
various prizes by showing up their skills and
talents in various fields. There are music
society, literary society, dance club, Technical
festivals, university festival held yearly at the
campus. And also, students participate in the
competition and show their talent in various
fields like dance, music, sports, acting,
painting, debate, speech competitions, etc. In
addition to this, students can also volunteer in
various social activities to get exposure to
societal behavior and change with their studies.

encourage the students and showcase their talent.

NCC (National Cadet Corps) NSS (National
Service Scheme) Cells The unit of NCC is active
in this college and students can be part of this
by fulfilling all requirements of the NCC
department. In addition to this, there is the
benefit of the NCC certificate because various
government jobs prefer the certificate holder for
the same. Seminar and Conferences Seminars,
webinars, etc. are conducted for the students.
