  • The Conestoga is a kind of wagon
  • The Conestoga had a blue base and red wheels
  • The red wheels have a metal ring around them
  • The wagon was not as sturdy as they thought it
    would be
  • They were very small
  • The wagons cost one hundred dollars

The Trail
  • The trail was very dangerous
  • You had to walk most of the time
  • The trail was two thousand miles
  • The trail was from Independence to Oregon City
  • In some places there were mosquitoes and it was
    really hot
  • There were deadly rattlesnakes

The Peoples Clothing
  • The clothing was usually raggedy
  • It was also black and white
  • The clothes were old because most of them were
    not rich
  • The womens clothes were usually a dress
  • The men wore vests over their clothes
  • They only had 1 or 2 sets of clothing

  • Most of the men on the trail brought a gun
  • The children only could bring one thing
  • You really wanted oxen instead of horses or mules
  • You wanted food also
  • You only had five hundred fifty dollars to spend

  • Another one was deadly rattlesnakes
  • The first person to die on the trail was buried
    at Ash Hollow
  • Most people starved or lost their supplies
  • A lot of people did die along the trail

  • There were many different kinds of rocks along
    the trail
  • The biggest one out of the six was called
    Independence Rock
  • The smallest one was called Jail Rock
  • There were six big rocks along the trail
  • The tallest one is Chimney Rock
