  • AVOID INTENSE COMPETITION
  • Competition is an effective form of
    motivation. However, a Teacher should not over
    emphasize competition Because that,
  • 1. Leads to cheating
  • 2. Prizes given are regarded more
  • important than what is learnt.
  • 3. Weaker Students are at a disadvantage
  • 4. Sensitive Students may become uneasy

How To Motivate Learners?
  • TRY TO BUILD UP YOUR STUDENTS FEELINGS OF SELF
    ESTEEM
  • Try to give every Student an experience of
    success, praise, encouragement and support.
  • MAKE LEARNING SEEM WORTHWHILE
  • To make the Students aware of how their
    learning is important and useful in this life and
    in the hereafter.
  • To help them apply what is being learnt in a
    practical way, I.e. to be able to put into
    practice.

  • THE TEACHER MUST PROVIDE REGULAR FEEDBACK
  • The Students must know how they are
    progressing - even verbal clues ( O.K, Go
    on, Masha-Allah ), gestures (nods, etc.) -
    all these helps and boosts the Students.
  • If the Teacher is making constructive
    comments then write that down in their Quran or
    in their daily report form.
  • ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO SET REALISTIC GOALS
  • Goals that are easy to achieve, increases
    motivation.

  • CREATE A WARM AND FRIENDLY CLASSROOM ENVIROMENT
  • Studies have shown that Students are better
    motivated when Teacher is
  • 1. Kind/considerate
  • 2. Patient
  • 3. Fair and impartial (Not Favoring)
  • 4. Has sense of Humor/Flexible.
  • 5. Pleasing and personal appearance.
  • 6. Does not Threaten constantly

  • Most definitely this is the most important
    role of the teacher is seen as a role model for
    the Students to emulate.
