Growth Development Video

• Parent Preview March 27 _at_ 800 a.m.
• Girls and Boys Video April 3 _at_
  different times
• Parents have the option to preview the video and
  speak to our school nurse prior to the student
  presentation.
• All students must have a signed permission slip
  in order to see the video and participate in
  discussion.

PARTICIPATION IN 5TH GRADE ACTIVITIES

• 80 of Homework
• 2s or better in all work/study habits
• No fighting or office referrals
• Adherence to classroom behavior plan

LAUSD Policies on Sexual Harassment Bullying

• Sexual Harassment is
• -unwelcome comments, conduct, suggestions, or
  gestures
• -same gender or opposite gender
• -bumping, pushing, pinching, snapping or
  otherwise physically engaging without someones
  consent
• -spreading rumors
• -telling graphic, sexual jokes
• -making slurs, insults, or threats based on
  gender
• -drawing or displaying pictures that are
  suggestive, explicit, or gender demeaning
• Bullying is
• -intimidating, pestering, or bothering another
  student
• -demanding another student to behave in a
  certain way or perform a certain act
• -demanding another student turn over items or
  allow the bully to play first, cut in line, etc.
• -verbally assaulting another student with
  insults or accusations

RILEYS FARM FIELD TRIP

• Friday, March 13
• Be at school at 630 a.m.
• Revolutionary War experience
• OK to bring iPods, hand held video games, books,
  10 spending money, etc.
• -Dearborn is NOT responsible for these items
• -Label all items
• -video games and music need to be
  age-appropriate, mature content games or music
  will be confiscated
• Bring a sack lunch no soda
• Return to Dearborn around 400 p.m.
• LAUSD Permission Slips
• Sign Up for Chaperone After Meeting
• Will cost 12 for you to attend
• Need a volunteer form on file (TB test)

CULMINATION CEREMONY

• Wednesday, June 18 _at_ 900 Holmes Middle School
• 5 tickets per family
• Students come to school at regular time (empty
  hands)
• Parent check in table outside auditorium
• No flowers or balloons for students
• Do NOT set up tri-pods or other video equipment
  in aisles, as they are used during the
  program.
• Students may leave with a family member after
  the ceremony

Fifth Grade Awards - Culmination

• Academic Excellence
• 3.5 or higher GPA for core academic areas
  (math, reading, writing, social studies, and
  science) over all 3 reporting periods
• Academic Achievement
• 3.0 or 3.49 GPA for core academic areas (math,
  reading, writing, social studies, and science)
  over all 3 reporting periods
• Outstanding Character
• For students who have demonstrated exceptional
  citizenship and good character throughout the
  school year
• Physical Fitness
• Presented to all students who pass all portions
  of the Grade 5 Physical Fitness Test
• Perfect Attendance
• Students who have had no absences or tardies
  all school year
• Outstanding Achievement in the Arts
• For students who have demonstrated exceptional
  ability in the arts
