11UC Daviss Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory
12California Climate Action Registry
- The California Climate Action Registry was
established by California statute as a non-profit
voluntary registry for greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions. - The Registry helps companies and organizations
establish GHG emissions baselines against which
any future GHG emission reduction requirements
may be applied.
13UC Davis GHG Inventory
- Baseline year 2005
- Reported CO2 for 2005
- Reported all six Kyoto Protocol gases for 2006
(CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, and SF6). - UC Davis was the 3rd University of California
campus to join the registry
14UC Davis Inventory - Facility Breakdown
- Main Campus
- UC Davis Medical Center
- Tahoe Research Center
- Bodega Bay Marine Laboratory
- Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center,
Tulare - Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
- Small offsite facilities (i.e. Winters, Colusa)
15UC Davis GHG Inventory-Emission Sources
- Electricity usage utility bills (PGE,
- WAPA, SMUD, and SoCal Edison)
- Mobile combustion sources (fleet, Unitrans buses,
Grounds, boats, Voyager Credit Cards, etc.) - Stationary combustion (generators, boilers,
heaters, etc.) fuel usage logs, invoices,
metering records, etc. - Comfort Heating and Cooling Natural gas usage

18What can we do????
- Close fumehood sash (One fumehood 3 homes).
Labs are the single largest energy user on campus
- Shut down your computer at the end of the day
- Replace old appliances/refrigerators/freezers
with new Energy Star Products - Turn your lights off
