- The Colorado Physical Activity and Nutrition
(COPAN) Program Worksite Task Force has been in
existence since 2003. - Task Force Demographics for profit worksite
wellness vendors, insurance companies, non-profit
organizations with interest or mission related to
health, wellness, or worksites, and local health
agencies. - Early initiatives trainings, grants, worksite
resource kit, better communication and resource
sharing, and assistance with community
initiatives.

- Over 15 regional workshops, summits and web-cast
presentations. Approximately 300 people trained. - 38 grants have been distributed for a total of
approximately 80,000. - Over 500 resource kits distributed.
- Creation of the Colorado Worksite Health

wellness programs through employer funding and
support.

- The HCSTF has the following major
accomplishments - Developed of Guidelines for Adult Obesity
- Developed a DVD for physicians on how to counsel
overweight and obese patients. - Partnered in promoting a toll-free weight
management telephone counseling service to
underserved populations in Colorado. Over 400
clients enrolled. Average weight loss was 6 of
total body weight.

- That HCSTF partnered with the Colorado Clinical
Guidelines Collaborative to provide Rapid
Improvement Activities (RIAs) in 10 healthcare
practices in Colorado. - The focus of the RIAs was to help practices
develop simple interventions that will make it
easier to counsel overweight and obese patients.

the Colorado Breastfeeding Task Force. Major
accomplishments of the Work group are - Making over 100 Breastfeeding Friendly Business
Awards annually - Developing an online breastfeeding curriculum for
nursing students through Metro State

- The BFWG is distributing a Breastfeeding Policy
Toolkit and providing technical assistance to all
55 birthing centers in the state. The technical
assistance will focus on implementing model
breastfeeding-friendly hospital policies and
practices that have been shown to increase
initiation and duration rates.
