Who was the inventor

• John Pemberton the inventor of Cola.
• In May 1886 Coca Cola was invented by Doctor John
  Pemberton.

Birth of Cola.

• John Pemberton made the Coca-Cola in a three
  legged brass kettle.
• The name was a thought from John Pembertons
  bookkeeper.
• The soft drink was first sold at a fountain in
  Atlanta.
• Until 1905 the soft drink was still a tonic.

The death of the Soda Fountain

• Until 1960 both small town and big city dwellers
  enjoyed soda at the Soda Fountain or the ice
  cream saloon.
• Often housed in a drug store the Soda Fountain
  counter sold as a meeting place for all kinds and
  ages.

Rise of the Bottling Industry

• Also combined with lunch counters.
• The Soda Fountain declined in popularity as
  advertisements.
• On April 23,1985 the New Coke formula was
  released.
