Le Chateau du Broutel

• Le Château dates back to 1714 and is situated in
  over 40 acres of beautiful grounds.

Rue

• Le Château is situated on the
• edge of the small historical
• town of Rue. Originally
• established as a Roman
• outpost, it grew in prosperity in
• the 6th Century due to its port
• and later became the capital of
• the region. It is located 5
• minutes off the A16 motorway
• which links Calais - Amiens
• Paris.

The French Experience

• The objective of our French Experience course is
  to provide students with the opportunity of
  experiencing French culture from a beautiful 18th
  Century Château.

French Experience

• Despite our country being separated by only 26
  miles of water the two countries are in many ways
  very different. Students will be able to
  distinguish from their visit to Le Château that
  it is not only the language that differentiates
  the two cultures, but also architecture,
  history, food, attitudes and driving on the other
  side of the road. These are some of the
  differences.

• We aim to encourage pupils to speak the French
  language as often as possible while staying in
  the Château.

• 1400 Picnic lunch and visit to Nausicaa Sea Life
  Centre in Boulogne
• 1830 Arrive at Chateau
• 1900 Evening meal
• Activity in Chateau grounds

• 0900 Visit to Market in Rue
• 1220 Lunch at the Chateau
• Afternoon activities at the Chateau
• 1730 Evening Meal
• 1900 Evening Mass

• 0930 Guided tour of the battlefields of Somme
• 1230 Picnic lunch
• Afternoon activities at the Chateau
• 1915 Barbeque and Disco

• 0900 Packing and depart Chateau
• Lunch stop in France
• 1500 Expected return to school
