Title: Pantex and CostWorks
1Pantex and CostWorks
- June 2009
- Presented by
- Steve Patterson Pantex Plant,
- CAIS/FIMS Administrator, CAS Manager
2Costworks - How We Use It
- CostWorks is used to develop construction cost
estimates that include both deferred and
non-deferred components that fall within the
scope of the project. - Accurate Condition Assessment Survey (CAS) data
enhances ability to plan executable deferred
maintenance (DM) projects. - Currently use CostWorks to build customized
sustainment models (still in the implementation
stage).

4Develop Scope of Work
This scope of work is 1 of 5 provided by the
customer (Utilities System Mgr.)
5 In this case, our customer provided us with a
drawing. CostWorks estimator (CAS Group) then
identifies specific areas of interest within the
project.
6Step 1 - Select New Step 2 - Type in Project
Name Step 3 - Select Open Step 4 Select
Estimator tab
You choose the location to store your project
estimates
7Select CostList Import
8Nothing shows on this list until you add an
Assembly item. You can also add to your CostList
from the Unit Cost tab as well
9 Assembly and Unit costs can be used for
estimating your projects. The note field is an
excellent area to provide task specific info.
