Education

• My name is Cathy Angela Mayhew and I was born on
  the 28th January 1984 in Sydney. I attended
  Claremont College, Randwick for the majority of
  my primary school education, and spent one year
  at Woollahra Public School in Year 6. For my
  secondary education, I spent Years 7, 11 and 12
  at The Henry Lawson High School, Grenfell, which
  is a small rural town 2 hours west of Bathurst.
  For Years 8, 9 and 10, I attended Vaucluse High
  School at Vaucluse, in the eastern suburbs of
  Sydney.

Education

• Ever since Work Experience in Year 10 at a
  Primary School, I knew I wished to become a
  Primary teacher when I completed my HSC. At the
  end of Year 12, I had received the marks
  required to study primary teaching however, I was
  unsure which university I wished to attend. I had
  a choice of studying in Sydney, Melbourne or
  Bathurst, and in the end due to family
  circumstances, I chose to study at The Charles
  Sturt University, Bathurst.

Work Experience

• I have been fortunate enough to complete work
  experience and voluntary work in a number of
  professions. In 1996, I volunteered to work at
  the Grenfell Public Library during my spare time,
  for a duration of one year. In 1998, I spent one
  week on work experience at F.M. Beck and
  Associates law firm, situated in Sydney. In 1999,
  I spent one week on work experience at Bellevue
  Hill Public School, also situated in Sydney. In
  2001, I spent a month completing voluntary work
  at the Grenfell Day Care center. Additionally,
  during this time, I completed one week of work
  experience at the Grenfell Public School.
• All these experiences have proven worthwhile and
  immensely beneficial to my career choices in
  life.

Work experience

• Apart from the voluntary work I have completed,
  I have additionally completed paid work from 1996
  through to the present. In 1996 and 1997, I
  babysat a number of children on a permanent
  basis. In 1998, I spent one year working at a Mr.
  Whippy Ice cream store in Sydney. In 2000, I
  spent one year working at the Exchange Hotel,
  Grenfell as a kitchen hand. Additionally, during
  this time, I babysat for a number of friends on a
  permanent basis. I did not work on a permanent
  basis during 2001 due to the HSC however, in
  2002, I have been able to allocate time to work
  at the Bathurst Ten-Pin Bowling Center.

Interests and hobbies

• My main passions in life include
• Becoming a successful and well-educated primary
  teacher,
• Cats,
• Music (mainly the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the
  Superjesus),
• Reading,
• Playing most types of sport, especially Netball
  and Basketball, and
• Movies.
