    will be identified.
  • The key elements will drive a co-ordinated
    response for the delivery of a Partner
    collaboration in targeting local Services.

Diversity
  • The strategy will be underpinned by a commitment
    to the principles of safeguarding children,
    equality and diversity and the protection of
    vulnerable adults.
  • Those effected by DV will be treated according to
    their individual needs.

Key National Strategies
  • The Key National Strategy approach to DV was
    developed through consultation in 2003 on Safety
    and Justice and it centred on three
    areasPrevention, Protection Justice,Support
  • The consultation informed the development of
    the Domestic Violence Crime and Victims Act
    (2004)
  • BVPI 225 Actions Against Domestic Violence
    designed to assess the overall provision and
    effectiveness of LA Services designed to help
    victims of DV

Objectives
  • DV in all relevant strategy documents
  • Development of work place policies/protocols
  • Ensure comprehensive support services for
    Survivors of DV are provided, from reporting
    through to prosecution
  • Review current training in all setting to
    provide a co-ordinated programme
  • Development of a robust data, evaluation,and
    performance monitoring system

    month period.
  • The range of agencies making a referral

  • Total number of children involved
  • Number of cases where the victim supports a
    prosecution.
  • Encourages accountability and consistency
    between agencies
  • Permits participants to measure the impact of
    their work and builds commitment to the process.
  • Analyse /measure the cost -benefit of running a
    MARAC.
  • Allows for MARAC impact contributes to
    performance targets such as improving confidence
    in CJS

  • Key outcome indicator linked into wider Violent
    Hate Crime Target -violence measured as overall
    figure, with separation of Race Hate and DV
  • Linked into Crime and Disorder Reduction
    Partnership Strategy
  • Delivery of actions set against strategic
    objectives should be accountable to Local CDRP

Guiding Principles
  • DV is unacceptable in any Community and all
    individuals have the right to feel safe and be
    safe in their own home.
  • Safety and confidentiality should underpin all
    action
  • No single person or agency can, or should be
    expected to undertake all action/s or support
  • Collaboration is essential to the sensitive and
    effective delivery of Services to Survivors of
    DV.
  • Inaction is not an acceptable response to DV
  • Abusers are accountable for their behaviour
