(chiselling away the waste wood). There are many
different types of chisels and each has a
particular use.

rough edges. They can be used to smooth a range
of materials including wood, metal and plastic.

PLANES are used to smooth rough surfaces or to
plane down the thickness of a piece of wood to
the required size.

DRILLS are used for drilling holes through
materials including a range of woods, plastics
and metals.
