  • Thank you to all involved in the 2005 admissions
    round
  • DfES considers that coordinated admissions were a
    success in that round
  • DfES also recognises that there were some
    problems with the transfer of data
  • Admissions Sub RIG and supplier meetings to
    identify and resolve issues

  • Issued revised transfer file specifications
    (including example files)
  • Issue XML schema(s)
  • Producing additional guidance on how process
    systems deal with transfer files

  • Issued to LEA Admission Officers in April
  • Covered
  • Software (problems)
  • The coordination process
  • Suggestions for improvement
  • Offers made to parents
  • Return date of 9 May
  • Responses from 79 LEAs by 11 May

Admissions and Edubase
  • All LEAs invited to contribute amendments to
    school data on Edubase
  • Only 12 taken up the offer so far
  • None have actually returned any amendments yet
  • Amendments by end May will be in July release
  • Software suppliers will have access in July

  • Codes and guidance issued
  • Available via http//www.teachernet.gov.uk/managem
    ent/tools/ims/absenceattendance/
  • to be implemented no later than the start of the
    Autumn Term 2006
  • LEAs need to draw attention of schools to the new
    codes

  • Interpretation of pre Autumn 2006 data and
    reporting arrangements on that data
  • Asked suppliers to consider proposals or
    suggestions on common advice to issue to schools

    SLASC (subject to confirmation)
