3Facilities Management at UTD
- All CAD based Engineering plans and documents.
- No real-time updates to help people negotiate
around campus (5/18/08). - Very little technology utilized, because of lack
of funding and change.
4Facilities Management at UTD
- In 2002 there was a need to expand the reporting
capabilities to the State for . - The LTS or Logistical Tracking System was born.
- LTS was integrated with ArcSDE via CAD maps.
- GPS classes were tasked to obtain building
corners, infrastructure and utilities. - Writing of the code commenced.

25Homeland Security Uses at UTD
- Convert the LTS into a Situational Awareness tool
- Allow access to Emergency Responders and EMS
- For use in natural and Human-induced incidents
- Locations offered in both Lat/Long and address
- Hopefully reduce costs and dangerous crisis
- Introduce a geocentric emergency management
system at all institutions.
