• Consists of 3 layers (from lumen outwards)
• 1. tunica intima
• 2. tunica media
• 3. tunica adventitia (externa)

• consists of simple squamous epithelium
  endothelium that lines the entire circulatory
  system.
• a basal lamina underlies the endothelium.
• some connective tissue, more or less.
• Thus, some fibroblasts

Tunica Media

• typically consists of
• a. smooth muscle that is oriented circularly.
• b. quite a bit of CT consisting of collagen,
  reticular fibers and lots of elastic fibers.

• consists of loose CT fibroblasts, nerves,
  lymphatic vessels
• has blood vessels called
• vaso vasorum (vessels of the vessel)
