- FANS' BEHAVIOR AT GAMES
- BECOMING INCREASINGLY FOUL
- Whatever became of sportsmanship? Or civility?
Or respect? In far too many college basketball
arenas, those terms are yesterday's news. Fan
misbehavior has become an epidemic. What once
were good-natured fun have become over-the-top
personal attacks on college students who happen
to play basketball. - Dick Jerardi, Philadelphia
- Daily News, March 24, 2004
While support of our team may be
well-intentioned, displays of profanity
simultaneously debase our team, our athletes and
our university. Dan Mote, University of
Maryland President
