THE IDEA

• Involve all employees and their families in a
  safety-related activity
• Provide prizes to generate interest. All prizes
  should be safety related.
• All employees and their families are eligible.
• Be able to visualize the activity and maintain
  longevity.

A COMPANY CALENDAR

• WHY ?
• It was decided that all ages could take part in
  providing pictures for the calendar.
• It would create a discussion about safety, at
  home, among family members.
• The Company could promote SAFETY by publishing
  the calendar and by recognizing participants.

THE RULES

• You could enter as many drawings as you wished
  but would be eligible to only win one prize.
• All pictures had to be drawn by hand and related
  to safety on the job or off the job.
• There were four categories based upon the four
  seasons plus a grand prize for the cover - a
  total of 13 prizes.
• All winners would have their names printed with
  their drawings.

RESULTS

• 24 entrants with the range of ages from 19 months
  to 16 years and one adult entry.
• Wide range of topics.
• The winners were quite excited about having their
  artwork published for all to see.
• The calendars are posted throughout the plant and
  in all employees homes as well as being given
  out to customers. They are a superb safety
  reminder for the entire year.
