3Who We Are
Company Letter Trufflitus was founded in
Kirkland, Washington in the year 2000 by a small
group of men who were eager to find within
themselves that feminine side their wives were
urging them to unearth. Combining their culinary
arts education, their passion for cooking and
their innate ability to create from within their
hearts, these men produced a cookie that even a
king would praise. For years they pondered
different ingredients and formulas. For years
they studied the art of cookie making. They
created, but never succeeded. One fine August
afternoon, while sitting around the oven, one of
the co-founders Mick Tacher, described a dream he
had in which he was visited by a little man with
a green hat who lived in a tree. This dream
became the inspiration for a new receipt. From
here they began baking. They tested their new
creation on friends and families. Within days it
was a hit. This idea has become the single
greatest product the cookie industry has ever
seen. It became the Microsoft of the cookie
industry it became the mother of all cookies,
the cornerstone and baseline for all cookies to
come. Now, every major bakery in the world
carrys Trufflitus famous treats. Mission
Statement Our mission is to serve the world with
the finest treat its ever tasted. Our
Purpose To give the world a product that is so
great in taste and quality, that

5Mick Pipe Wrench Tacher
From the age of two, Mick Tacher lived on the
Northern-most tip of Alaska in a city called
Barrow where he worked on the trans-Alaskan
pipeline. Until the age of 23 everybody that knew
Mick viewed him as an inspiration to the
pipeline. He worked in any weather, during every
season, on every terrain during anytime of the
day. All the pipeline workers idolized him. He
was the mans man, until one fate changing day
when while drilling for oil he struck a natural
well of chocolate. Soon after the discovery he
left the pipeline to pursue his fate making the
finest cookies in the world.

6Drew Chip Dussault
After being a Chip n dales exotic dancer for
almost ten years, Drew was pummeled by a group of
girls visiting from Nebraska. This horrible
accident caused Drews eyesight to diminish, so
he found himself in a local hospital facing a
scary and lonely decision. His nurse brought a
truffle one day to cheer him up. At this point,
his outlook on life changed and his motivation to
become a professional baker ignited like a Crème
Brule.

7Fady Perry Mason Nasiem
After graduating from Harvard Law School, Fady
just wasnt satisfied with the fast pace world of
the legal system. Fady found his passion on an
expedition in the jungles of Africa when he was
the only one who knew how to cook. His passion
for cooking led him to the great Northwest for a
more peaceful and serene environment.

16Required Comments
- Q What should the denominator be for the cost
of cookie evaluation? - The denominator for the cost per cookie would be
the number of cookies made, in our case, 40. - 63.11 (total cost) / 40 cookies 1.58 per
cookie - Q What measures would your group use to
efficiently evaluate production performance? - In order to ensure an efficient production
performance, we are going to use uniformity with
all ingredients such as Ghirardelli Chocolate,
Jif peanut butter, and all other ingredients.
This will allow us to assume what all costs are
accurately. We also decided to chill the cookies
overnight in order to cut down on overall labor
costs. - Q What measures are unnecessary and why?
- The only unnecessary measure was that our number
of cookies reworked for us was 0. - Q Evaluate the 2 overhead rate for
reasonableness? - We feel the overhead for our project was fairly
reasonable. The materials we used were fairly
inexpensive, and we feel that the 2 overhead
would more than cover the expenses consumed in
our MOH. - Q What is your groups consensus on disposing
of your overhead variance? - Our overhead variance is very low. Since we
arent going to incur very many more expenses (if
any) to the actual manufacturing process, we feel
safe assuming a low variance.
