- A preposition shows the relationship of a noun or
pronoun. - Example I am standing beside the box.
- Example I am standing in the box.

Adverb or Preposition?
- Key! Always check to see if there is an object
of the preposition (a noun) after the word in
question. If there is, its a preposition. If
there is not, its an adverb! - Example Please go inside the house soon.
- Example Please go inside soon.
- Example The football player asked the girl out.
- Example The fans jumped out of their seats.
