Personal Progression through Practical Life and
Work Skills

Learners are able to start work placements as
soon as possible.
Work placements can be for up to one year.
Learners will benefit from gaining practical life
and work skills to support them in their search
for voluntary or paid employment as appropriate.

Each learner will complete four units
Applying for a job
Going for an interview
My role at work
Travelling to and from work.
This will be followed by an optional unit from
Maintaining a work placement or Taking part in
voluntary work.

There are real benefits that people with a
learning disability can bring to the workplace.
Good practice in ensuring that all applicants,
regardless of their disability, are considered
for employment resulting in the appointment of
the best person for the job.
