17PALIMBANG COAST ROAD CLEARING AND MEDCAP
PROJECT LCE 1226 6-12 SEP 07
Kalamansig
6 SEP
- BACKGROUND While conducting an area recon, LCE
1226 found a road that was in poor condition.
Predominantly Christian barangays had paved
roads, but predominantly Muslim barangays, and
MILF controlled, were not. It was rumored that
some barangays, namely Sangay, were completely
cut off by a series of landslides blocking the
road. Upon further reconnaissance, LCE 1226
found this to be the case. This presented the
opportunity to coordinate the Palimbang Coast
Project. - WHO AFP of the 6th ID, 1002nd BDE, 38th CAFGU,
104th MILF BC, workers of the municipalities of
Sangay, Malisbang, and Palimbang, Philippine

including the MILF in the project such that they
improve the GRPs legitimacy and solidify
commitment to the peace process in the eyes of
the local populace. - RESULTS
