  • Topics will include Focus Four Hazards
  • Fall Protection, Electrical, Struck By, Caught

  • Does NOT make you a Competent Person in any
    construction topics
  • Trains employee to Recognize hazard

Why
  • Program was initially begun in 2001 with
  • Construction employees being the target group
  • Retirements have created an increase in new
    employees
  • Reorganization of the Cabinet has meant crossover
    in employee duties

Who should attend
  • EVERYONE
  • All District and Central office employees of
    Project Delivery and System Preservation that
    could be exposed to construction hazards.

When, Where, How Long
  • Training to begin in March/April of 2009
  • 2 classes of approximately 40 people to be held
    in each District in the next six months
  • Goal of 24 classes for each six month interval
  • Expected to take 2-3 years to fully complete

  • 1,000 have been qualified as Work Zone
    Technicians
  • 500 have been qualified as Supervisors
  • Approximately half are KYTC employees
