Working Principle of the Heat Recovery System

Hot Water Systems
The ecogen HRS can be installed anywhere where
hot water is needed. The HRS water tank is
linked to the A/C system which comprises a
condenser, expansion valve, evaporator and
compressor. The whole system can be explained by
using two loops.

condenser where it is further condensed into
liquid.
The Refrigerant is super-cooled returned to the
evaporating unit to complete the refrigerant loop.

Most heat pump and air-conditioner water heaters
have their hot and aggressive vapor refrigerant
tube direct contact with the storage water. This
poses the danger of the stored water to be
contaminated by the refrigerant in event there
is R22 which all contain the hazardous chemical.
The ecogen Heat Recovery System does not pose
any threat of contamination to the storage water
in the event that the refrigerant vapor leaks
because the refrigeration coils are not in direct
contact with the water.

Q Do I need to turn on my air conditioner
whenever I need to use hot water? A No. You do
not need to do so. Once the air conditioner has
been on for 2 hours, the hot water can be
retained as the ecogen hot water tank well
insulated. If its not used, the hot water can be
retained for a number of days. Q How long does
it take to heat the hot water? A For 1 HP (9k to
12k BTU) air conditioner with the ecogen 60
Liters tank the water can be heated up from 28
degrees C to 40 degrees C in ½ hour and 60
degrees C in 2 hours. Q How much approximately
I can save by using the Sedna Air ecogen system?
A 100 of your current cost for producing hot
water! You are using free energy! Q What is the
requirement to install? Do I need to change my
air conditioner? A No. You do not have any
special requirement to install a Sedna Aire
ecogen system it can be used with any brand of
the air conditioner! Q Will my air conditioner
consume more electricity? A No. a Sedna Aire
ecogen system in fact reduces work done by
condenser thus 9.8 less wattage of electricity
is consumed by the air conditioner. Q Will it
damage my air conditioner or compressor? A No.
It will not damage your compressor as the heating
coil for the air con is not immersed in the water
thus preventing any contamination of water with
refrigerant and vice versa. Q Is the
maintenance cost high? A No. As there are no
moving parts in the Sedna Aire ecogen system,
there is no maintenance cost at all. Q How does
it help the environment? A The Sedna Aire ecogen
system extracts the discharged heat from the
compressor of the air conditioning unit before it
is vented outside to heat water. This will
protect the environment by drastically reducing
greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions compared to
virtually all other form of heating and this also
reduce the amount of heat being discharged to the
environment by the air con thus helping in
reducing global warming.
