  • Parabolically
  • Metaphorically
  • Similically
  • Prophetically

11
Literally
  • In the beginning God created the heaven and the
    earth
  • Gen.11

12
Symbolically
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
etc Galatians 522.
13
Proverbially
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging and
whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise
Proverbs 20 1.
14
Parabolically
He spake also this parable A certain man had a
fig tree planted in his vineyard and he came and
sought fruit thereon, and found none. Luke 186.
15
Metaphorically
His watchmen are blind they are all ignorant,
they are all dumb dogs, they cannot barkyea,
they are greedy dogs which can never have enough.
Isaiah 5610,11.
16
Similically
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,
that one day is with the Lord as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter
38.
17
Prophetically
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the
earth and he had two horns like a lamb, and he
spake as a dragon. Revelation 13 11
18
PROPHECY
  • What is prophecy?
  • How does prophecy relate to history?
  • How does prophecy affect me personally
  • What can we learn from it?
  • Can prophecy be trusted?
  • Who or what is the source of prophecy?

19
WHAT IS PROPHECY?
  • The writings, sayings, or predictions of a
    prophet.
  • Prophecy is history in advance
  • History is prophecy fulfilled

20
WHAT IS PROPHECY?
  • Prophecy is also Gods special blueprint, used
for building up His kingdom and the faith of
His children in His existence, and in the
certainty of His promises, here on this earth.
    Num.1434 Eze.46.
  • Prophecy is divine revelation.

21
HOW DOES PROPHECY AFFECT YOU OR ME PERSONALLY?
  • At the end of that week the Lord said to me, Son
of man, I have called you to be a watchman for
the house of Israel. So listen to what I have to
say and then warn the people for me.
  • When I give you a message for a wicked man, such
as, You will surely die unless you change your
ways, and you dont warn him and he dies in his
sins, I will hold you responsible. (Ezekiel 316,
    17.)

22
HOW PROPHECY AFFECTS US
  • But if you warn him and he doesnt repent of his
wickedness and change his ways, but dies in his
sins, I will not hold you responsible for what
    happens to him. (Ezekiel 319.)

23
HOW PROPHECY AFFECTS US
  • Or, if a righteous man turns from doing what is
right and does wickedly, and I place an obstacle
in his way to help him wake up, and you dont go
and warn him for me and he dies in his sins, I
will hold you responsible. All the good thing he
has done will not be remembered nor taken into
    account. (Ezekiel 320.)

24
HOW PROPHECY AFFECTS US
  • But if you go and warn him and he repents and
turns from his wicked ways, he will surely live,
because he took to heart what I had to say, and
there is nothing to hold you responsible for.
    (Ezekiel 321.)

25
WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM PROPHECY?
  • We are all affected by it.
  • Our eternal destiny is determined by our response
    to Gods Revelation.

26
CAN WE TRUST PROPHECY
  • SURLEY THE Lord God will do nothing but He
revealeth His secrets to His servants the
    prophets. Amos37.
  • We have also a more sure word of prophecy
whereunto ye do well that ye take heed as unto a
light that shineth in a dark place, until the day
dawn, and the daystar arise in your hearts. 2
    Peter 1 19

27
CAN WE TRUST PROPHECY
  • Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation.
  • For the prophecy came not in old time by the will
of man but holy men of God spake as they were
moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1 20, 21. cf
    2 Sam.23 2.

28
CAN WE TRUST PROPHECY?
  • Num.12 5-8.
  • Deut. 1815-22.
