- Graduated with a bachelors degree in Business
Administration.

- Played in the Davis Cup in 1963.
- Took this offer with great pride.
- This made him the first African American to play
for the United States. - Debuts in Wimbledon in the year 1963.

- Became one of the most prominent tennis players
of his time. - Won the U.S. Open in 1969.
- Wins Australian Open in 1970.
- Becomes President of Association of Tennis
Professionals in 1974. - In 1975, wins Wimbledon and World Champions
Championships, Become 1 Tennis player in the
world.

example of overcoming prejudice. - First colored person to be ranked the 1 tennis
player in the world. - Plays last tournament win in 1978 with a win at
Pacific Southwest Championships. - Has heart-attack in 1979.
