Marcos 1615 - 20
15 En aquel tiempo, se apareció Jesús a los
Once y les dijo Vayan por todo el mundo y
prediquen el Evangelio a toda creatura.
16 El que crea y se bautice, se salvará el
que se resista a creer, será condenado.
17 Estos son los milagros que acompañarán a los
que hayan creído arrojarán demonios en mi
nombre, hablarán lenguas nuevas,

18 cogerán serpientes en sus manos, y si
beben un veneno mortal, no les hará daño
impondrán las manos a los enfermos y éstos
quedarán sanos.
19 El Señor Jesús, después de hablarles, subió
al cielo y está sentado a la derecha de Dios.
20 Ellos fueron y proclamaron el Evangelio
por todas partes, y el Señor actuaba con
ellos y confirmaba su predicación con los
milagros que hacían.

15 Jesus appeared to the eleven apostles and
said, Go into the whole world and proclaim
the gospel to every creature.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be
saved whoever does not believe will be
condemned.
17 These signs will accompany those who believe
in my name they will drive out demons, they
will speak new languages.

18 They will pick up serpents with their hands,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not
harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and
they will recover.
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to
them, was taken up into heaven and took his
seat at the right hand of God.
20 But they went forth and preached
everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and
confirmed the word through accompanying signs.

Marcos 1615 - 20 by Fr. Sam Rosales,

Today is the Feast of the Ascension. It marks a
significant event in the life of Christ. That is
why the Roman Catholic Church celebrates this as
a special feast day. It signifies a new
relationship with Christ. From now on he wants
us to relate more with his divinity, less with
his humanity. This new order of existence
transcends the experience of the senses and the
imagination.

Hoy se celebra la Fiesta de la Ascensión. Marca
un acontecimiento muy importante en la vida de
Cristo. Por eso la Iglesia Católica celebra este
día de una manera muy especial. Significa una
relación nueva con Cristo. De hoy en adelante Él
quiere que relacionemos más con su divinidad, y
menos con su humanidad. Esta nueva orden de
existencia trasciende la experiencia de los
sentidos y de la imaginación.

For the last time he is visibly perceptible, as
he takes leave from the assembled disciples. No
longer will they behold him in this manner. From
now on he will be present to them not in visibly
perceptible form, but in the breaking of the
bread (Luke 2435).

Por ultima vez está visible de una manera que se
puede percibir, al tomar su despedida de los
discípulos que están allí reunidos. Ya no van a
verlo de esta manera. De hoy en adelante estará
presente a ellos no en forma visible, sino que
al quebrar el pan (Lucas 2435).

The Acts of the Apostles were also written by
Luke. He speaks about what Jesus did for forty
days after Easter. He appeared to the Apostles
numerous times giving many proofs that he was
alive, and speaking of the kingdom (Acts 1
2). The entire transit to the Father through
death and resurrection is now concluded with his
Ascension.

Los Hechos de los Apóstoles también fueron
escritos por San Lucas. Habla de lo que Jesús
hizo por cuarenta días después de la Pascua. Se
apareció a los Apóstoles numerosas veces
dándoles muchas pruebas de que estaba vivo,
hablando del reino (Hechos 1 y 2). El transito
entero al Padre desde la muerte hasta la
resurrección ahora se concluye con su Ascensión.

Jesus opens up the minds of the Apostles to an
understanding of the scriptures. The Messiah
had to suffer and rise from the dead on the
third day. The eyewitnesses must now become
testifiers. Specific instructions are given.
They are to preach repentance for the forgiveness
of sins to all the nations. This is to begin in
Jerusalem. But they must wait there until they
receive power from on high as the Father has
promised.

Jesús abre las mentes de los Apóstoles a un
entendimiento de las escrituras. El Mesías tenia
que sufrir y levantarse de la muerte al tercer
día. Los que vieron todo esto ahora tienen que
dar testimonio. Se les dan instrucciones
especificas. Han de predicar el arrepentimiento
para el perdón de los pecados a todas las
naciones. Esto ha de comenzar en Jerusalén.
Allí se han de esperar hasta que reciban poder de
lo alto como el Padre lo ha prometido.

The disciples are not to proceed on their own.
They must wait till they receive a special grace,
an authorized commission, one invested with
power from on high. The Greek word dynamin
means power. They will need that power to carry
out the Lords command. That word rings a bell
for the careful reader of Luke. For Jesus always
moved with the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke
414). The power that went forth from him
(Luke 619) is the power to heal. The Apostles
are to receive that power as the Father has
promised.

Los discípulos no han de proceder de su propia
cuenta. Se tienen que esperar hasta que reciban
una gracia muy especial. Será una comisión
autorizada, invertida con el poder del
Altísimo. La palabra Griega dinamin quiere
decir poder. Necesitaran ese poder para cumplir
con el mandato del Señor. Hay que notar que San
Lucas usa esa palabra cuidadosamente. Jesús
siempre fue movido con el poder del Altísimo
(Lucas 414). El poder que salió de Él (Lucas
619), era el poder de sanar. Los Apóstoles han
de recibir ese poder como el Padre lo ha
prometido.

What happened to Jesus after his departure? The
answer is found in Acts 530-31. God exalted
him at his right hand as leader and Savior
This makes it a meta-historical event. It is
beyond history. It is trans-historical. Acts
232-33 says This Jesus God raised up, and
of that we are all witnesses. Being therefore
exalted at the right hand of God, and having
received from the Father the promise of the Holy
Spirit, he has poured out this which you see
and hear.

Qué le sucedió a Jesús después de su salida?
La respuesta se encuentra en Hechos 530-31.
Dios lo ha exaltado a su derecha como Príncipe
y Salvador... Esto hace a este acontecimiento
meta-histórico. Es mas allá que la historia. Es
trans-histórico. Hechos 232-33 dice Pues
bien, Dios ha resucitado a ese mismo Jesús, y
de ello todos nosotros somos testigos. Después
de haber sido enaltecido y colocado por Dios a
su derecha y de haber recibido del Padre el
Espíritu Santo que nos había prometido, él a su
vez lo derramó sobre nosotros. Eso es lo que
ustedes han visto y oído.

In Ephesians 47-10 St. Paul says Grace was
given to us according to the measure of Christs
gifts. Therefore it is said When he ascended
on high he led a host of captives, and he gave
gifts to men. In saying He ascended what
does it mean but that he had also descended into
the lower parts of the earth? He who descended
is he who also ascended far above all the
heavens, that he might fill all things.

En Efesios 47-10 San Pablo dice Pero cada
uno de nosotros ha recibido los dones que Cristo
le ha querido dar. Por eso, la Escritura dice
Subió al cielo llevando consigo a los cautivos,
y dio dones a los hombres. Y qué quiere
decir eso de que subió ? Pues quiere decir
que primero bajó a esta tierra. Y el que bajó
es el mismo que también subió a lo más alto del
cielo, para llenarlo todo.

Therefore everything in the universe is in
contact with the risen Christ. In First Peter
319 it says the spirits that were in prison
became subject to the risen Lord as he ascended.
So dont hesitate to bind the evil spirits in
the name of Jesus!

Por eso todo en el universo esta en contacto con
el Cristo resucitado. En Primera de Pedro 319
dice los espíritus que estaban en la prisión
fueron sujetos al Señor resucitado cuando
ascendió. De manera que no se detengan de
atar a los espíritus malos en el nombre de Jesús!

In Psalm 6817 it says With mighty
chariotry, twice ten thousand, thousands upon
thousands, the Lord came from Sinai into the
holy place Thou didst ascend the high mount,
leading captives in thy train, and receiving
gifts among men, even among the rebellious,
that the Lord may dwell there.

En el Salmo 6817 dice Los carros de Dios se
cuentan por veintenas de millares de millares
El Señor viene del Sinai a su santuario.
Subiste a lo alto, cautivaste la cautividad,
Tomaste dones para los hombres, y también para
los rebeldes, para que habite entre ellos Dios.

Finally in Ephesians 118-19 St. Paul wants
the eyes of your hearts to be en-lightened.
Realize what are the riches of his glorious
inheritance in the saints, and what is the
immeasurable greatness of his power in us who
believe.

Finalmente en Efesios 118-19 San Pablo quiere
que los ojos de sus corazones sean iluminados.
Hay que darse cuenta cuales son las riquezas
de la herencia gloriosa en los santos, y cual
es la supereminente grandeza de su poder en
nosotros los que creemos.

God has raised Jesus from the dead and made
him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,
far above all rule and authority and power
and dominion, and above every name that is
named, not only in this age but also in that
which is to come and he has put all things
under his feet (Ephesians 120-22).  
Amen! Yes Lord! Glory to God! Many,
Many Times!

Dios ha levantado a Jesús de la muerte y lo ha
sentado a su derecha en los lugares celestiales,
sobre todo principado y autoridad y poder y
señorío, y sobre todo nombre que se nombra, no
solo en este siglo, sino también en el venidero
y sometió todas las cosas bajo sus pies
(Efesios 120-22).  Amen! Así sea!
Gloria a Dios! Muchas veces!
