NDE System Integration Plan
  • NDE will Establish Product Integration Teams
  • Prepare Goal Teams, Line Offices to use NDE data
  • Coordinate customer service, product
    feedback/upgrades
  • Establish communications service agreements with
customers to ensure effective data delivery when
Phase One and Phase Two Products become available
  • NDE will Establish Outreach/Training Program
  • Identify new users and applications for polar
    satellite data products initiate dialog
  • Develop training modules for products
  • Make use of existing forums and expertise
  • Coordinate Help Desk functions

13
User Integration Activities Outlook
  • Environmental Modeling and Numerical Weather
    Prediction
  • With the NOAA JCSDA Deputy Directors
  • Meeting at 2-3 month intervals
  • Coordinating NDE product development delivery
    with NCEP testing
  • Providing mutual support for budget requests

    2008)

15
For COPC Consideration
  • Investigate expansion of the Shared Processing
    Link
  • Facilitate the distribution of NDE NUPs and XDRs
    to Navy and AFWA Centrals
  • Encourage co-development by NDE and the DoD
    Centrals
  • For data product development
  • For tools
  • For Backup

16
Project Schedule CY
NOTE IPO/NASA plans extensive Cal/Val following
NPP launch
17
Summary
  • The NDE Project is on schedule to deliver
products to NCEP as soon as they are made
    available
  • In principle NDE could serve other OPCs as well
  • Phase 1 NPP Products will be those which will
    demonstrate continued capability for NWP
  • Seek formation of NDE Product Integration Team
for Data Assimilation to streamline preparations
for NCEP and JCSDA partners to apply and test
procedures they are developing to assimilate NPP
    and NPOESS observations
  • For the benefit of all partners, we should
    consider
  • Investigate the expansion of the Shared
    Processing Link
  • Explore co-development opportunities between NDE
    and DoD Centrals
  • Analyze backup options between the Centrals
