Important Folders
  • Nightly Homework Folder
  • Assignments will be discussed several times
    throughout the date
  • Children are responsible for writing down their
    assignments
  • Folders need to be reviewed nightly
  • Folders will be checked daily
  • Tuesday Take Home Folder
  • Graded assignments will be placed in this folder
  • Review graded work
  • If failing, sign and return
  • Papers with a 70 or higher can be removed
  • Folder needs to be signed and returned Wednesday

Homework
  • Unfinished Classwork
  • Any unfinished classwork will become homework
  • Math Homework
  • Will be given 3 nights a week. Monday and
    Tuesday night will be a Drops and Wednesday will
    be a word problem.
  • Reading
  • Read 30 minutes nightly
  • Spelling
  • Study words

STAAR
  • 4th Grade has 3 STAAR Tests
  • Writing 2 Day Test with 2 Compositions
  • Math 4 hour test
  • Reading 4 hour test
  • Test will be more strenuous than TAKS
  • Scores will not be used for accountability.
  • NOT A STUDENT SUCCESS INITITIVE YEAR

  • Daily Grid Documentation Sheet

Make-Up Memo
  • Per the student hand book, your child has one day
    per day absent to make up missing assignments.

  • Monday-Language Arts
  • Tuesday-Reading
  • Thursday-Math

Volunteer Information
  • Please visit the office to become an approved
    volunteer for GPISD.
  • You MUST have a background check on file in order
    to attend field trips or be a classroom
    volunteer.
  • Background check must be renewed each year.

  • Volunteering on campus(reading to students, etc.)
