Sri Siva Subramaniya
  • Broken down into three parts each built with the
    height weight and width to fit the size of the
    religious statues inside needed to bring about
    correct vibrations during prayer.
  • Dravidian architecture of this temple is rarely
    seen outside of India and a must visit if in the
    area

Suva
  • Suva is the capital of The Fiji Islands since
    1882
  • Largest city in the South pacific
  • Home to more than half the countries population
  • In 1879 Suvas population was a mere 200 people
    and now it has more than 200,000 inhabitants.

    college students. Suva is home to a branch of The
    University of South Pacific and Fiji Institute of
    Technology.

Navala Village
  • The traditional village of the Fijian people
  • All homes are built out of traditional materials-
    bamboo walls, thatch roofs
  • Home are built for every new marriage and take
    about one month to make.

  • Every visit to Navala village starts with a
    welcome ceremony in which the tourist drinks the
    traditional Fiji drink made from the roots of the
    Yagona tree bonding them with the culture

Rotuma
  • 450 Kilometers away from Suva
  • Rotuma is well known for two reasons 1) It is
    shaped like a whale
  • 2) It is a fragile volcanic island with
    craters rising up 250m.
  • Until recently you needed an invitation from a
    Rotuman resident to step foot on the island.

  • In addition to Rotuma being a shield volcano made
    out of alkali-olivine basalt, it has many other
    physical attributes
  • Rotuma has the richest soil of the Fijis growing
    mangos, papayas, bananas, oranges, and melons
  • Rotuma is filled with rainforests, mountain
    peaks, and coral reefs.
