Title: Solar%20Energy

1
Solar Energy
  • Daniel, Drew, and Beau

2
What is solar energy?
  • Solar energy is radiant energy given by the sun.
  • Two hydrogen atoms form into helium through
    fusion and make energy

3
How does this energy work?
  • The energy given off from the fusion gets sent
away from the sun, some hitting the Earth we
collect this energy through solar panels.

4
What is this energy best suited to do?
  • The energy is formed into electricity through the
panels so it is best suited to power household
appliances such as lights. Some also use the
    energy for heat.

5
How realistic is this energy currently?
  • In 2008, about 0.1 of the total energy supply in
the US came from solar sources.

6
How likely is it that we will be using this
energy in the near future?
  • It is 100 likely that we will be using solar
power as an energy source. It is predicted that
in 2025, 50 of our energy will be solar.

7
What are the advantages of this form of
energy?
  • Pro It is considered clean energy, there is a
constant stream of it and its not dangerous.

8
What are the disadvantages of this form of
energy?
  • Con- Cost of panels are high, weather can affect
the efficiency and only works during the daytime.

9
Question 1
  • What is the resulting element the sun makes
    during nuclear fusion?
  • A Hydrogen
  • B Helium
  • C Ewoldsenium
  • D - magnesium

10
Question 2
  • What takes energy from the sun and turns it into
    electricity
  • A Superman
  • B Photosynthesis
  • C Solar panels
  • D Solar Systems

11
Question 3
  • How much energy used was solar in 2008?
  • A 0
  • B 0.1
  • C 1
