  • How much Galileo data still needs to be analyzed?
  • There is still some useful PPR data laying
    around, especially ride-along data
  • We need to combine PPR with other data to be
    really useful in studying volcanoes

2
Problems with data
  • Not targeted, so many observations are
    uninteresting
  • Those have already been eliminated
  • Open filter
  • Several observations were taken during the
    daytime using the open filter
  • These are contaminated with sunlight and the
measured effective temperatures are higher than
    actual surface temperatures
  • Registration
  • Coregistering data from different instruments and
orbits has been a major challenge

  • Can get the data correctly coregistered
  • Doesnt look very good
  • ArcGIS
  • Data is coregistered and user of the GIS database
can alter how to view it
  • Can also work with geologic maps, etc.
