• Repaso Conjunctions in Spanish are either
  followed by the indicative or subjunctive
  depending on the phrase and verb tense of the
  main clause (present set or past set).
• In Spanish, some conjunctions are always followed
  by the subjunctive.

• A fin de que in order that A menos que unless
• Antes (de) que before Con tal de que provided
  (that)
• En caso de que in case Para que so that
• Sin que without, unless

• We discussed before that if the verb in the main
  clause was present, progressive or future tense,
  then the subjunctive clause would be present
  subjunctive.
• Ex Voy al partido a menos que llueva.
• HOY If the main clause is in preterite or
  imperfect and the action in the subordinate
  clause happened at the same time or after the
  verb in main clause, then use the imperfect
  subjunctive.
• Ex Iba al partido a menos que lloviera.
• Nunca veíamos esa telenovela sin que estuviera
  toda la familia.

• So, the only time we use the subjunctive with the
  when conjunctions is when it refers to a future
  action.
• But, even in the past sometimes, we can refer to
  the future from a past moment.
• You will use the conditional or iba a
  infinitive in the main clause, with the imperfect
  subjunctive in subjunctive clause.
• Yo iba a encender el grabador de DVD tan pronto
  como comenzara el programa.
• I was going to turn on the DVD player as soon as
  the program started.
• Dijeron que el programa comenzaría despues de que
  terminara el comercial.
• They said the program would begin after the
  commercial finished.
