We use Present Perfect Continuous to express

• an action which started in the past and still
  continues We have been waiting for two hours,
  but no one showed up. (We are still waiting)
  I have been living in Arnhem for twenty years.
  (I am still living in Arnhem)
• an action which started in the past and is just
  finished
• She has been teaching for twenty years. (
  but she decided to stop teaching two hours ago)
