  • There are many plant-animal interactions in
    nature. Animals eat plats to get energy and
    nutrients. Plants serve as habitats for insects,
    small animals, and birds. Plans (and algae) also
    release oxygen into the air as a byproduct of
    photosynthesis. People and other animals need
    oxygen to live. Plants use it in the process of
    respiration.
