Page 19 Why do people work for free? I know that some people volunteer because they are making a difference by helping people. I can put together what I know with the text on this page and infer that people work for free because they want to help others.

What do we already know about who needs desks? Students and workers need desks. Desks may be sent to schools and offices.

12Biography of Mr. Henderson
Mr. Henderson is the maintenance man at our
school. He is also a father and a baseball coach.
He is special because he helps kids in our
community.
Mr. Henderson was born in 1957. He played Little
League baseball for seven years from 1964 to
1971. Then he was the catcher on his high school
baseball team.
In 1980 Mr. Henderson became the maintenance man
at our school and has been working here ever
since. In 1985 he helped put out a fire in the
cafeteria.
In 1988 Mr. Henderson started coaching baseball.
He has had a winning team for 15 years.

She is ten years old. Stephanie was born in
Texas and moved to Pennsylvania when she was
four. There are five people in Stephanies
family. Along with her mom and dad, she has two
brothers and one sister. Their names are Jake,
Joseph, and Sarah. - Gymnastics is Stephanies favorite past time.
She has been doing it for three years. The name
of her gym is Parkettes and she practices two
days a week. - Stephanie attends school in Emmaus. Her
favorite part of school is math, she likes to
solve problems. When she grows up she wants to
