  • Approximately 30 million people in employment
  • Flexible employment in the UK is the most
    successful in the world
  • Flexible employments demonstrated benefits are
    enormous for both candidates and employers and
    make for a more productive workforce
  • In the UK we cherish our flexible employment and
    the REC plays a key lobbying role to protect
    it from increasingly stifling legislation
  • 80 of the ethnic minority population is aged
    16-35 with an annual disposable income of 32bn
  • 18 or 8.7 million of the working population
    have a disability with an annual buying power
    of 50bn

  • It is now a specialist activity hence the need
    for professionally trained recruiters
  • For the past 10 years, the industry achieved
    phenomenal growth valued at 27bn (23bn from
    temporary contract placements and 4bn from
    permanent placements)
  • Due to uncertainties within the industry many
    consultancies strive for diversification
  • Maintaining a constant pool of talent is vital
    for recruiters
  • Their job comes with the added pressure of
    compliance to legislation and its impact on
    the diversity of the candidates they have to
    attract (sex, race, age, disability, sexual
    orientation, religion)

    always comply with all relevant legislation,
    statutory and non-statutory codes and official
    guidance that will impact on their clients and
    candidates
  • Means that the registered recruiter will take
    the necessary steps to ensure compliance with
    the Employment Agencies Act 1973, the Conduct
    Regulations 2003
